Message Some of you already know that I sold my Z a few weeks ago, to TTnet member Urb. It seems like the Z went to a great new home. Urb doesn't post here much but he's a-lurking. I got the impression that he didn't want to prance around with my former car here, like he thought it was my stomping ground, but if you're reading Scott, I encourage you to do so!

Anyway I sold it mostly because I wanted something more suitable for the track. Something lighter. But mostly something I could wad up at the track and not get too upset about. My Z was just too nice to abuse on the track. Besides I seem to go through cars like underwear.

So I spent a couple months researching. I looked at E30 and E36 3-series, FC RX-7s, and even considered a new Evo. But I decided to keep it in the family. So here she is. I flew to VA yesterday morning and drove her home. 1990 Ivory White S13 240SX 5-speed with SR20DET motor.

The car was absolutely filthy when I bought it. I spent the last 36 hrs cleaning it up. I was going to post before and after pics, but the pictures don't do the transformation justice. ~160k on chassis, ~40k on motor. Car is very tight and solid, despite the mileage. So light and tossable, I love it.

Anyway the car is mechically very sound, just has a few small issues to work out (squeal when engagin gear/letting clutch out, I think it's the TO bearing; and stalling, which is the damn BOV). I don't think there is a single body panel without some sort of scratch, dent, or misalignment. But that's fine with me.

Car is lighly modded: Intake, fuel pump, FMIC, DP, TP, MBC, hotpipe w/ BOV, Z32 brakes. I'm just going to add a Koyo and a cat-back, up the boost a bit and I should be around 240-250 rwhp. I already ripped out the stereo/subwoofer setup, gutted the trunk, and will be gutting the back seat (for roll bar install) and AC delete, so I should be looking at 2500 lbs or less. Slightly better power-to-weight ratio than my old Z (350 rwhp, 3600 lbs loaded), and a lot less mass to haul around. With the potential for a lot more relatively cheap hp. Some suspension mods are of course en route. Should be fun.

I'll miss the Z but it's in good hands. I plan on sticking around here (just like I did when I sold my first Z32), and of course I'm still looking forward to ZCON 05.

Peace out!
